Scottish Enterprise (SE) is Scotland’s national economic development agency. We help Scottish businesses to grow nationally and internationally, to become more efficient and innovative, and to access the funds they need to develop. We also attract overseas companies to invest in Scotland.

We’re hiring multiple Engagement Partners to help promote the role played by SE in supporting economic growth in Scotland.

The difference you'll make

As part of our experienced corporate services team, you’ll help raise awareness of SE and support the organisation’s corporate reputation with key audiences across media, government, parliament and partner organisations.

You’ll be a key contact for incoming media, government, parliamentary and freedom of information enquiries – and will respond with clear and concise communication within set deadlines. You’ll also work with the wider team and external partners to plan proactive multi-channel communications to enhance understanding of SE and of the significant investments supported by SE.

Developing relationships with media, partners, government and parliament will be a crucial part of the role. You’ll also monitor key parliamentary developments and keep SE’s senior team updated when required.

The qualities you'll bring

Educated to degree level, you’ll have several years’ experience in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement or public affairs

You should have experience working with Scottish or UK government, of managing corporate briefing requirements and preparing parliamentary enquiry materials for stakeholder engagement activities.

A skilled writer and speaker, you’re confident engaging with media, influencers and senior stakeholders. You’re used to planning multi-channel campaigns and providing communications support for senior leadership figures. You’ll have experience of working in a busy organisation and will work proactively as part of a team. You’ll have well-established professional networks to bring to the role – and of course, a deep understanding of the media: traditional, social and everything in between.

Ideally, you will have a working knowledge of FOISA legislation and SE’s key stakeholders. Passionate about what makes Scotland great, you’ll also have a good understanding of parliament and the opportunities and challenges facing the Scottish economy.

You can be based at any of our offices in Scotland and some out of hours work will be required.
